The Power of Propaganda: When Lies Become "Truth"

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.” This chilling principle, attributed to Nazi propaganda chief Joseph Goebbels, served as a cornerstone of the Nazi regime’s brainwashing tactics. It enabled the systematic indoctrination of millions of Germans and other Europeans, fostering hatred and facilitating atrocities on an unimaginable scale. Tragically, this same strategy is being wielded with alarming effectiveness today by groups like Hamas and those championing the so-called "Palestinian" cause.

The parallels are undeniable. The same target—the Jewish people. The same perpetrator ideology—one rooted in hatred and the deliberate manipulation of facts to incite violence and perpetuate lies. The narrative they promote is as deceitful as it is pervasive, and yet, disturbingly, it finds traction in an era where information is more accessible than ever.

The Lie That Won’t Die

Hamas and its allies have mastered the art of propaganda, using modern platforms to disseminate their falsehoods. They repeat claims of "genocide," "apartheid," and "ethnic cleansing" against Israel, knowing that repetition breeds belief. Social media, a tool capable of connecting the world, has become their megaphone. Viral posts, emotional imagery, and doctored statistics are used to sway public opinion, targeting the hearts and minds of an uninformed global audience.

The result? A growing number of people buy into a narrative that frames Israel as the aggressor and Palestinians as perpetual victims. This is despite the historical and ongoing reality: Hamas’s explicit commitment to Israel's destruction and their use of civilians as human shields while pouring resources into weaponry instead of infrastructure.

Why the Lie Persists

Propaganda thrives in environments where critical thinking is scarce. Misinformation is easier to digest than complex truths. Emotional appeals—often backed by staged or exaggerated content—evoke sympathy, overshadowing logic and historical context. Additionally, many media outlets, whether out of bias or ignorance, perpetuate these narratives by failing to challenge them.

This tactic is not new, but its execution today is disturbingly sophisticated. The Nazis used rallies, posters, and radio broadcasts; today’s propagandists use algorithms, hashtags, and viral videos. The delivery method has evolved, but the core principle remains the same: Repeat the lie until it becomes the truth.

The Wake-Up Call

The question remains: When will people wake up to this lie? How many more will be misled before the world collectively recognises the deceit for what it is?

The responsibility falls on all of us to challenge these falsehoods. It means questioning the narratives we encounter, seeking out facts, and understanding the historical context. It means holding media outlets accountable for biased reporting and amplifying voices that expose the truth. Above all, it means refusing to let hate and propaganda go unchecked.

Goebbels’ words remind us of the dangerous power of repeated lies. But they also serve as a warning. History has shown us the devastating consequences of unchallenged propaganda. Today’s Nazis—whether they operate under the banner of Hamas or the "Palestinian" cause—must not be allowed to rewrite the truth. Let us learn from the past and ensure that lies, no matter how often repeated, are met with unwavering truth.
